The Schooners head on the road to face off against the Mountaineers on Monday, June 29. Mystic heads into the game with an 11-7 record and a 6-1 road record. The Mountaineers enter the contest 7-13 on the summer.

Vermont is fresh off a 9-0 shutout victory over the Upper Valley Nighthawks. The Mountaineers’ offense exploded with 15 hits on the afternoon. Alex Benevento (Brown) knocked a team-leading four hits.

The Schooners snapped a three-game skid with a win on the road against the Ocean State Waves. The Schooners trailed by a run heading into the ninth inning, but scored six unanswered in the frame to push past the Waves. Jack Harley (Stetson) had a spectacular night, reaching five times. Harley also stole three bases in the game.

The teams opened their seasons against one another. Mystic hosted and took a 4-2 victory over the Mountaineers. Bryce Detwiler (UConn) started his Mystic campaign with a splash, a three-run shot to seal the first Schooners win of the season.

Nick Santivanez (Cal State Fullerton) is Mystic’s probable starter. The start will be Santivanez’s first with the Schooners. The Orange, California native has made three appearances this summer and has struck out four in 4.1 innings of work.
