The Schooners look to take down the defending NECBL champions on Wednesday, July 8. Mystic travels to Keene to face the 15-10-1 Swamp Bats. The Schooners have been the best road team in the league with an 8-1 away record.

Keene is coming off a double-header loss to Vermont. The Swamp Bats were held scoreless in the first game, but fell 5-3 in the back half of the set.

The Schooners have had several days of rest due to inclement weather. Mystic last played in an abbreviated Fourth of July matchup with the Gulls and fell 7-1 after five innings of play.

This season, Jackson Smith (Cincinnati) has been spectacular for Keene. Smith ranks third in the league in batting average with a .406 clip, smashing four homers and tallying eight stolen bases. Jackson Marshall (UConn) is first in the NECBL in RBI with 21.

For Mystic, Casey Wensley (Bryant) is tied for third in the league with 18 RBI and has paced the Schooners offense this summer. Mystic has recorded 77 stolen bases through 23 games. Cam Righi (UConn) leads Mystic with 13.
